Jung Sook-Jung

Abstract
On the ¡®aging unequally¡¯ perspective, depression of older adults is associated with socioeconomic factors. The purpose of this study is to examine the difference of depression according to the economic activity of the elderly and the moderating effect of socioeconomic factors in relation to the economic activity participation and depression of the elderly. Analysis of Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(5th~6th) shows that participation in economic activities, individual gross income, and subjective class consciousness are all factors that affected depression. There was no moderating effect of individual gross income on the relationship between economic participation and depression. however, the subjective class consciousness variable has a moderating effect on the relationship between participation in economic activities and depression. Based on these results, the policy proposals and theoretical implications were discussed.
